Choose Thankfulness

Happy holidays SSYO family,

We hope this message finds you in good health and high spirits. As all of you know, November is the month where we celebrate and highlight thanksgiving. At SSYO, we do our very best to stay in a constant and consistent place of thankfulness and gratitude.
Have you ever tried that? Next time you’re having a challenging day or trying to shake off a poor attitude, try this. Close your eyes in that instance (as it’s safe to do so) and don’t think about anything else except for five things in life that you’re most thankful and grateful for. Once you’ve identified those five things, think about all the specific things that make you feel thankful and grateful for them.

I promise you this practice will help get you out of that poor attitude. Why does this happen? I believe that thankfulness and gratitude are two of GOD’s many tools that HE’s given us to help ‘reset’ our attitudes when things are tough. I find in my personal life that choosing to focus on all that I have to be thankful and grateful for instead of all of life’s challenges and frustrations helps me stay spiritually, emotionally, mentally, and physically healthier. You should try it this holiday season!

As a staff here at SSYO there are always two things that we remain ‘over the top’ thankful for: 1) GOD’s Provision, 2) All of You!!! The consistent prayers, love, generosity, and support from all of you is how GOD continues to encourage us as a staff that HE wants Strong, Young Lives to continue being built here in Corvallis. Endless thanks to all of you for your various contributions to the mission here at SSYO. Please let us know how the challenge works out for you. We’d love to hear it. Also, please send us your family Christmas cards as we love putting them up around the office.

Happy holidays again and GOD bless you all.

Sincerely,

Jake Moevao
