Merry Christmas SSYO Family! We hope you and yours are well this holiday season. As we head toward Christmas, the thought of “Precious Gifts” has been on my mind. After all, Christmas is when we celebrate the most precious gift of all: JESUS. When it comes to the priceless gifts here at SSYO, the individuals that GOD’s brought onto the leadership team come to mind. One of the most critical tiers of that leadership team is our Board of Directors. Just like our staff, this group of phenomenal individuals is among the absolute best Boards around!!! They all love JESUS. They all have impeccable character. They’re all extremely wise and intelligent. They’ve all got decades of leadership experience. And, they all have exceptional reputations around town. Over the past three plus years, we’ve been beyond blessed to add four of these amazing people to the SSYO Board. A little over three years ago, we added Greg Norlander. Greg is a phenomenal family man and a career long loan officer. He also serves at Calvary Corvallis in various behind-the-scenes roles. A little over 2 years ago, we added Mel Glubrecht. Mel is simply amazing in countless ways. She attends Northwest Hills Community Church and has decades of administrative leadership experience with several local ministries. Mel and her awesome husband Jack have been ‘pillars’ in the Corvallis evangelical community for decades. Soon after Mel joined, we added Dan Campbell. Dan is the former Fire Chief in Corvallis and a former Senior Pastor of almost 10 years. Dan too is a phenomenal family man and serves at Calvary Corvallis as a House Church Leader and Men’s Ministry Leader. Finally, and most recently, we added Suzie Burns. Suzie is another wonderful addition who attends Suburban Christian Church with her husband and has also served as Suburban’s Office Manager for more than a decade. Suzie has a long history in financial administration and has a very special place in her heart for ministries that love youth such as SSYO. As you can see, SSYO is absolutely blessed beyond words to have such a gifted Board of Directors. It is my personal conviction that the stronger a Board is, the stronger the organization can be. So, our Board Members are without a doubt, “Precious Gifts” to SSYO and the families we serve. They help keep the values protected, the culture healthy, and the mission of Building Strong, Young Lives moving forward. As you all know, the people and relationships in our lives are the most precious gifts that we have. So, during this Christmas season, remember to cherish and appreciate them as best you can. Thank you all for your continued prayers, love, and support of SSYO. You all are greatly appreciated by the leadership here. Merry Christmas and GOD Bless you all. Sincerely, Liavaa “Jake” Moevao
